A musical comedy by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht (with Elisabeth Hauptmann, credited under the pen name Dorothy Lane) that premiered in Berlin in 1929. Set in Chicago, it follows the romance between gangster Bill Cracker and Salvation Army officer Lt. Lilian Holiday, and includes the songs 'Surabaya Johnny' and 'The Bilbao Song'.
