Stagestruck is a personal tracker and recommendation tool for musical theater. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
You need to be at least 13 years old. When you sign up, give accurate information and keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Your ratings, logs, and notes belong to you. By adding them you give us permission to store and display them back to you so the app can work. Those stay private to your account, as described in the privacy policy. Comments are the exception: they are public, and posting one gives us permission to show it to anyone who visits that show page. Your activity may also be counted in anonymous aggregate statistics, such as a show's average rating or how often it is logged. Tag suggestions and vocabulary proposals you submit may be reviewed and, if accepted, used to improve the shared catalog.
Comments are public. Anyone who opens a show page can read them, whether or not they have an account, and each one carries the public name you chose. Post nothing you would not want attached to that name.
Keep comments about the show. Do not post abuse, threats, or hate speech. Do not impersonate anyone, post advertising or spam, share someone else's private information, or post anything unlawful.
No person reads a comment before it appears. It is checked automatically against a short list of slurs, and a comment that trips the list is refused rather than posted. Everything else goes up straight away.
Any signed-in member can report a comment, and a reported comment can be hidden automatically until the curator has looked at it. The curator can remove a comment, put it back, or clear a public name that breaks these terms.
You can edit or delete your own comment whenever you like. Deleting is permanent. Deleting your account takes your comments with it.
Use Stagestruck for its intended purpose. Do not scrape or bulk-copy the catalog, interfere with the service, try to reach data that is not yours, or use the app to break the law. We may suspend accounts that do any of these.
The show catalog is put together from public sources and AI research, so some details may be incomplete or wrong. Recommendations are suggestions based on how you rate shows, not guarantees. Show pages link out to streaming services so you can listen. Those services are run by other companies and have their own terms.
Some outbound links may be affiliate links, which can earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes which shows we recommend or how they are ranked.
There is a tip jar. Tips are voluntary and a tip buys nothing: it unlocks no feature, and it does not change what your account can do. Tipping and not tipping leave you with exactly the same Stagestruck.
On the web, payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us, so we cannot see or store them. In the phone app, Apple or Google takes the payment through your store account, and we never see your card at all.
A tip is a one-time payment. It does not renew.
Tipped on the web by mistake, or changed your mind? Email privacy@stagestruck.app within 30 days and we will refund it. For a tip left in the phone app, the refund is Apple's or Google's to make: ask them through your store account, since the money went to them and not to us.
Season Pass is a paid subscription. It unlocks the parts of Stagestruck marked as season features; everything else stays free, and it stays free whether or not you ever buy one.
It renews automatically until you cancel, for the period shown when you buy it. The price is shown before you pay and we will tell you before it changes. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep the pass until the period you have paid for runs out.
Where you bought it decides who bills you and who can cancel it. Buy in the phone app and Apple or Google charges you through your store account, so you cancel and ask for refunds there, under their refund policy. Buy on the web and Stripe handles the payment for us, you can cancel from Settings, and refunds are ours: email privacy@stagestruck.app and we will sort it out.
If a payment fails, the store or Stripe may retry for a while and you keep your pass in the meantime. If it still does not go through, the pass ends and your account goes back to the free version with everything you have logged intact.
Stagestruck is early software offered as is. We may change, pause, or stop features at any time, and we do not promise uninterrupted service.
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time, from Settings. Take a copy of your record first if you want one, since deleting is immediate and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or close an account that abuses the Terms of use.
The app is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will be error-free or that the catalog data is accurate.
To the extent allowed by law, Stagestruck is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app.
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top. Larger changes will be noted in the app.
