Start ratingLost in the Stars is a 1949 musical tragedy with music by Kurt Weill and book and lyrics by Maxwell Anderson, based on Alan Paton's novel Cry, the Beloved Country. Set in South Africa, it follows a Black country minister, Stephen Kumalo, who travels to Johannesburg to find his son and faces the consequences when the young man is charged with murder.
