Sunday in the Park with George

A musical by Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics) and James Lapine (book), inspired by Georges Seurat's painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. The first act imagines the obsessive artist creating the work and neglecting his lover Dot, while the second act follows his fictional great-grandson, also an artist, a century later.
