An opera in four acts by Giacomo Puccini, with a libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa based on Henri Murger's Scenes de la vie de boheme. It premiered in Turin in 1896 and follows a group of poor young artists in 1830s Paris, centering on the poet Rodolfo and his love for the ailing seamstress Mimi.
