From Here to Eternity

From Here to Eternity is a musical based on James Jones's 1951 novel, set among U.S. Army soldiers stationed in Honolulu in the months before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Private Prewitt falls for a woman working at a hostess club while his platoon sergeant carries on an affair with his commanding officer's wife, and the story builds toward the December 1941 attack. It premiered in the West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre in 2013 with music by Stuart Brayson, lyrics by Tim Rice, and a book by Bill Oakes.
