Based on P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster stories, the musical is framed as Bertie Wooster's attempt to entertain a village fundraiser after his banjo goes missing. At his valet Jeeves' suggestion, Bertie recounts one of his misadventures, a mistaken identity plot drawn from several Wodehouse tales. This is Andrew Lloyd Webber and Alan Ayckbourn's reworked 1996 version of their 1975 show.
