Linie 1 is a German musical that premiered at Berlin's Grips Theater in 1986, with music by Birger Heymann and book and lyrics by Volker Ludwig. Set on the U1 subway line, it follows a young runaway from the provinces who rides through West Berlin looking for a man she met, meeting an array of city characters along the way.
