A musical based on Victor Hugo's novel The Man Who Laughs, with music by Tim Phillips and Marc Teitler and a book by Carl Grose. Grinpayne, a young man whose face was carved into a permanent grin in childhood, performs his own story as a fairground act while trying to learn who disfigured him. It premiered at Bristol Old Vic in 2016 and transferred to the West End the following year.
