Memphis is a musical with music by David Bryan and a book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro, loosely inspired by 1950s disc jockey Dewey Phillips. Set in segregated 1950s Memphis, it follows Huey Calhoun, a white radio DJ who champions Black music, and his relationship with Felicia Farrell, a Black singer he wants to put on the air. It reached Broadway in 2009.
