Disney's stage adaptation, directed by Julie Taymor, follows Simba, a young lion cub and heir to the Pride Lands. After his uncle Scar murders his father Mufasa and seizes the throne, Simba flees in guilt, then grows up and returns to reclaim his place in the Circle of Life.
