Start ratingThe View UpStairs is set in the UpStairs Lounge, a gay bar in New Orleans where an arson attack killed 32 people in 1973. A present-day fashion designer buying the building is transported back to the bar on the night of the fire, where he meets the regulars whose lives it ended. It has music, lyrics and book by Max Vernon and premiered Off-Broadway in 2017.
