Doctor Zhivago

Set during the Russian Revolution and its aftermath, this musical follows physician and poet Yuri Zhivago as war and political upheaval pull him between his wife and Lara, a nurse he falls in love with. It's based on Boris Pasternak's novel and had its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in 2006, under the title Zhivago, before further development led it to Broadway.
