An Off-Broadway musical comedy with music by Marvin Laird and book and lyrics by Joel Paley, opening in 1992 as a campy spoof of The Bad Seed, All About Eve, Gypsy, and other stage and screen melodramas. It follows Tina Denmark, a stage-struck eight-year-old who will do anything to land the lead in her school play, and the fallout that reaches her mother. The tone is broad and tongue-in-cheek.
