Shenandoah is set in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley in 1862, during the Civil War. Charlie Anderson, a widowed farmer with six sons and a daughter, wants to keep his family out of the fighting, but the war reaches his land and pulls them in anyway. It's based on the 1965 film of the same name.
