A musical by Jeanine Tesori and Brian Crawley, based on Doris Betts' story "The Ugliest Pilgrim," about a young woman with a facial scar from a childhood accident. In 1964 she rides a bus from North Carolina to Tulsa hoping a televangelist will heal her, and along the way she meets two soldiers. It premiered off-Broadway in 1997.
