Mean Girls is a musical based on the 2004 film, with music by Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and a book by Tina Fey. It follows Cady Heron, a teenager raised in Africa who enters a suburban American high school and gets pulled into the orbit of a popular clique known as the Plastics. It premiered in 2017 before opening on Broadway in 2018.
